specific gravity = ratio of density to density of water
MOE = Modulus of Elasticity
MOR = Modulus of rupture
Parallel, Perpendiculur = Strength under compression when loaded parallel or perpendiculur to grain
Hardness = resistance of a material to deformation, indentation, or scratching
shear = the application of stress from two opposite directions causing portions of an object to move in parallel but opposite directions
